Homage to the Hugo Boss design

Allgemeine-SS officer service tunic for sale. The tunic tailored using a very fine black wool / doeskin. Insignia consisting of a single epaulette insignia bearing the silver-aluminium cords on back. The collar patch insignia with the vertical face silver-aluminium skull on black with silver piping, and companion rank patch with three silver-aluminium pips on black. The embroidery on the skull of particularly high quality workmanship.

The tunic with  the standard SS armband and  fine, RZM hand-embroidered 'Thurngen' cuff title. The tunic also has the Old Campaigners chevron to the riht-hand sleeve. There are loops for two awards to the pocket. Fine dull silvered matching buttons throughout. The lining in typical black silk and with fine tailor-stripe sleeves. The original owner's name label to the inside pocket, but the name cut out. The tunic also hosts a fine full set of silver-aluminium parade aiguillettes.

Condition report: Overall very good to excellent condition, showing just light service wear. The insignia very fresh looking. Collar patches machine-sewn into position. The armband and cuff title typically hand-sewn on. The tunic free from moth or damage.

Notes: it was the well-known fashion designer, Hugo Boss, that was asked to prepare the original designs for the black Allgemeine-SS uniform.
